Ektara — The Spiritual Heritage, Craftsmanship, Sonic Philosophy, and Living Traditions of South Asian String Instruments is a research and documentation initiative.
Through it we explore and preserve the heritage, spiritual and philosophical significance, construction craft, playing conventions, use of sound, and the living knowledge and cultural continuity of the ektara and related string instruments. The work is carried out across various regions of Bangladesh and West Bengal.
In presenting this mystic current of South Asian art, literature and music to the wider world, we welcome the participation and wholehearted cooperation of everyone.
